Question of the (fri)Day

Does your University have Student Orientation sessions during the summer?

Do they ask your campus ministry to participate?

Do you?

How?

How do you connect to the incoming freshman through this avenue?

  1. Here at Trine University, they have SOAR. During the period 11a-2p, the incoming students have the chance to eat lunch and then mingle at different booths through out our University Center. The University has a various on- & off- campus organizations participate. We here at CCH have all three of our staff members there with a display, a slideshow of pictures, and brochures. After we talk with a student about the ministry, we ask them to put their name and email address on a sign-up sheet. Then we give each of our students who attends NSC (National Student Conference) a list to contact and get to know throughout the month of August. Then we add them to our database, so they get all the notices about upcoming events.
